PHOENIX — While the start of the school year is weeks away still, Target has announced that it will have a week-long "Teacher Prep Event" in July where teachers and educators will be able to stock up on supplies and save 15%.

The event is scheduled to run Saturday, July 13 to Saturday, July 20, according to Target's website, and the discount will be available to all teachers, including teachers at daycare centers, learning centers, and homeschooling, faculty, and staff, on purchases made inside the store and online.

How to get the discount: To get the coupon, teachers will need to verify that they are a teacher through SheerID, a digital verification website (view website, here). The form asks for the school's name, first and last names, school email address, and personal email address. Once verified, the coupon will be emailed to you, the website says.

Target's website said the 15% discount applies to select school supplies, classroom storage and organization, food storage bags, disinfecting wipes, facial tissue, hand sanitizer, women's and men's clothing, accessories, and shoes; Pillowfort furniture, and Bullseye's Playground items.

Backpacks, electronics, lunch bags, trial- and travel-sized items, Fan Central, clearance, swim and sleepwear items are not part of the discount, according to Target's website.

Under Target's "frequently asked questions" section, SheerID may request additional documentation to verify someone is a teacher. "If further identification is required, we can take any document that ties your name and/or email address to an educational system," Target's website said. If that doesn't work, bring your teaching ID to the cashier at the Target store.
