You can change a life by giving a four-legged friend a FURRever home with this big event!

The 4th Annual Pittie-Palooza presented by FixAdoptSave is back! Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., head over to Metrocenter Mall!

The campaign brings together seven local animal welfare groups, who will be bringing five pit bulls each. It's a collaboration to end pet homelessness in Maricopa County, and bring a positive association to pit bull breeds.

While at the event, you can adopt a pit bull for just $20! Adoptions typically range between $100 and $400. Plus, any breed of dog can get FREE vaccinations, that can cost up to $150 normally.

All dogs can also be microchipped for $20, and there will be pet ID tags for $5.

Plus, the first 1,000 people there will receive vouchers for FREE spay/neuter services, that will take place at a later time. That would normally cost about $250. Last year, there were only 500 vouchers, so they wanted to double up for more people to score the freebie!

There will be informational vendor booths, door prizes, and of course, a celebration of a misunderstood dog breed, the pit bull!

Pit bull breeds continue to be one of the most at-risk in The Valley. In 2016, 10,501 pit bulls were taken into Maricopa County shelters, and 2,168 were euthanized. The organizations told us that pit bulls remain homeless due to public stereotypes. Last year, 29 pit bulls were adopted at Pittie-Palooza and over 150 animals were vaccinated.
