A Surprise officer has been released from the hospital after he was bitten by a suspect during a foot pursuit.
The incident unfolded near Grand Avenue and Bell Road on Tuesday morning. Air15 video showed police and fire personnel surrounding a pawn shop in the area.
Surprise police said an officer was investigating a possible impaired driver when the suspect fled on foot. A short foot pursuit started and as the officer caught up to the suspect, he bit the officer on the arm and leg.
The officer and the suspect were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The officer was treated and released.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
