A man accused of of wrapping a rope around his wife's neck has turned himself in to Peoria police.
Police say 48-year-old Juan Borbon-Hurtado was taken into custody Friday afternoon.
Authorities say Borbon-Hurtado drove his wife to the 7400 block of W. Northern Avenue on March 30, where he took a rope and tried to strangle her.
She fought back, and was able to escape and call police.
Borbon-Hurtado was booked into the 4th Avenue jail on aggravated assault and kidnapping charges.
