A Peoria martial arts instructor is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
Court documents show on Oct. 6, an adult victim came to Peoria police, and told them she was molested as a child by now 28-year-old Devon Joseph Wilson.
The victim told police the incidents started in Feb. 2009, when Wilson was 28 and she was 12 years old. She claims the abuse ended six months later, in August 2009.
Police say she is coming forward now because she feared Wilson’s Facebook postings suggested he was having sex with an underage girl. She gave police detailed accounts of ten encounters with Wilson, and set up a recorded confrontation call to help investigators collect evidence.
The victim says the first encounter was at her family's home in Peoria, when she says Wilson fondled her under a blanket while they were sitting on the couch.
The victim told police that the incidents became more frequent and blatant. At one point, she says, he videotaped them having sex and on one occasion asked her if he could use ropes to tie her down.
During a recorded confrontation call last November, police say Wilson admitted to having sex with the victim whom he knew was only 13 years old at the time. He allegedly said during that call, "I had a lot of issues back then. I had a lot of confidence issues back then, you know."
Wilson is charged with 14 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, and one count child molestation.
