Police are investigating after a person was struck and killed by a train in the west Valley Friday night.
Peoria police Officer Brandon Sheffert told ABC15 an adult man was hit near Cotton Crossing and Grand Avenue.
Air15 video showed traffic investigators at the scene just before 6 p.m.
Officer Sheffert said the man was walking along the tracks at the time of the crash. The conductor reportedly activated the train's horn, but was not able to stop in time. It's unclear why the man was on the tracks or if he heard the train coming.
