A suspect has been taken into custody after evading deputies in Litchfield Park.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said the situation started around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday near Litchfield and Camelback roads.

A female victim said she was in her vehicle with her boyfriend when she attempted to break up with him.

According to MCSO, the boyfriend, 24-year-old Devante Snead, became violent and struck the victim in her face and held a knife to her throat.

After the assault, the victim was able to contact MCSO and give them a description of the suspect and the vehicle.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle in a business parking lot and Snead attempted to evade them.

MCSO said Snead almost collided with several patrol vehicles and recklessly drove on Litchfield Road.

The suspect eventually collided with a fence and was taken into custody.

Snead was booked on aggravated assault, kidnapping, sexual assault, theft of means of transportation, unlawful flight from law enforcement and criminal damage charges.
