Maricopa County Sheriff's have arrested a woman in connection to the death of a man whose body was found in a large cornfield on June 2 near State Route 303 and Glendale Avenue.

They say the body was that of 56-year-old Tim Lavaugn Harnack.

Detectives collected evidence at the scene, and with tips from the community, identified the suspect as 20-year-old Katrina Mitchell. During their investigation, detectives determined that Harnack and Mitchell knew each other and were friends.

On June 4, officers responded to a Phoenix neighborhood on reports of a suspicious vehicle, which turned out to be Harnack's. Detectives found a large amount of blood near a rear compartment and were able to match the evidence from the car to the evidence found in the cornfield.

Officers arrested Mitchell on Friday, June 15, and charged her with Harnack's murder. Mitchell faces a murder charge in the 1st degree and one count of abandoning and concealment of a dead body.
