Nearly 50 firefighters battled a large house fire in Laveen early on Tuesday morning.
According to Phoenix fire crews, the 3,700-square-foot home is a total loss. The homeowners were not at the house at the time of the fire.
Just after 12:30 a.m., the son of the homeowners, who lives next door, went to the home and tried to extinguish the flames but was unsuccessful. He then called 911.
No injuries were reported and no other homes were damaged.
