A woman is dead after being shot in Goodyear Friday night.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department responded to initial reports of a car crash near MC85 and Estrella Parkway around 9 p.m.
According to officials, a person in one vehicle fired shots at another car, however, it's unclear as to what led to the shooting.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a woman who had been shot, an MCSO spokesperson said. The woman was taken to the hospital and later died of her injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident as a homicide and no additional details were immediately available.
MCSO says this is a “complex investigation." It's unknown if there's a suspect in custody at this time.
