Firefighters are working to contain a brush fire that ignited Monday night.
Crews responded to the area of 171st Avenue and Chandler Heights Road, west of the Estrella Mountains in the southwest corner of the Valley.
Officials said the fire had burned about an acre when they arrived.
No homes are threatened, according to a Goodyear Fire Department spokesperson.
Weather conditions, including low winds and an increasing dew point, were said to help firefighters.
