Woman hit and killed near 59th Avenue and Olive, driver sought

Officials are hoping you can find a hit-and-run suspect responsible for a deadly crash in Glendale.

Glendale police said 25-year-old Jessica Smith was hit and killed on 59th Avenue between Olive and Northern avenues on February 6. The incident happened around 6 a.m.

An investigation revealed Smith was walking in or near the crosswalk when she hit by a vehicle traveling northbound. The driver failed to stop and help Smith. 

In June 2016, ABC15 told you about a construction project that would hopefully cut down on crashes at 59th Avenue and Olive. The plan was to add medians and make pedestrians more visible. 

Glendale police believe the vehicle is silver, but have not been able to determine specific details.
