Police are investigating after a deadly crash at a major Glendale intersection early Wednesday morning.
The crash involving a pick-up truck and large commercial truck happened in the intersection after 4 a.m. at the intersection of 75th and Glendale avenues.
Police say the pick-up truck ran a red light and slammed into the commercial truck.
Thirty-four-year-old Glendale resident Omar Portillo was driving the pick-up and died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the large commercial truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The intersection and surrounding area were blocked for clean-up and the police investigation for several hours. They reopened around 11 a.m.
Police do not believe impairment was a factor.
