Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman inside her Glendale apartment earlier this month.
Officer Tiffany Smith said 26-year-old Jorge Lopez Nunez was taken into custody Monday at his home near 61st and Northern avenues in connection with the March 11 assault.
According to police, around 3 a.m., residents reported hearing female screams at their complex.
Responding officers located the victim, who said she awoke inside her home to Nunez pulling her down her bed towards him. He reportedly kept her from seeing his face by forcing her to look away from him.
Smith said the victim fought Nunez off as he attacked her, injuring him and ripping buttons from his shirt.

Nunez was booked and charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of second degree burglary, and one count of kidnapping.
