A year and one month after a man went missing, police have been able to identify human remains found in Buckeye as those of Joseph Cadle.

According to the Buckeye Police Department, police were looking for Cadle, a 69-year-old man from Buckeye, in January of 2015. A Silver Alert was issued for him.

Cadle suffered from dementia as well as other medical problems, officials said.

In July of last year, police learned the missing man's car was found in a desert area of Buckeye near State Route 85 and Buckeye Hills Drive. Crews looked for the man in the area, but were unable to locate him.

Just last month, a year after the man first went missing, police in Buckeye were told human remains were found near 207th Avenue and Komatke Road. A medical examiner determined the remains belonged to Cadle, police said.
