A burglary suspect was shot inside a home by a resident, officials said on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, around 1 p.m. a group of residents returned to their home near 231st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
Once inside, they discovered an 18-year-old man inside the home. One of the residents got into a fight with the suspect; the resident fired multiple shots that struck the man.
The man was taken to a hospital after suffering several non-life threatening injuries.
