Police in Avondale are investigating after a Good Samaritan was shot and a woman's vehicle was damaged late Saturday night.

According to police, around 9 p.m. on Saturday shots were fired near 112th Avenue and Garfield Street.

Police say there was a burglary at a home in the neighborhood when the man, who lives nearby, intervened and was fired at by the suspects.

The man was taken to a hospital to receive treatment of his non-life threatening injury. He is currently in stable condition.

Later, police received a call from a woman whose vehicle had been damaged while she was driving in the area around the same time the man was shot. Police said the woman's vehicle had been shot; she was not injured.

Police are looking for three Hispanic men in connection to the shooting. One was wearing a blue shirt, the other a black shirt and the third a red shirt. All three fled the area in a white sedan.

Both incidents are believed to be related to the same suspects.

Avondale police continue their investigation. Other information is currently unavailable at the moment.
