Maricopa County Sheriff's Department had identified an Arizona man who was bucked off a horse and then struck by a vehicle near Avondale.
Deputies said 36-year-old Manuel Almeda and his 6-year-old daughter were riding a horse near 107th Avenue and Broadway Road Thursday night when the horse became spooked and bucked them into the street, where Almeda was hit by a vehicle.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Almeda was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His daughter is also expected to be okay, fire officials say.
The horse they were riding was not hurt and has been contained.
