Avondale police found a man dead when they were called out to an apartment complex Monday morning to perform a welfare check.
Officers responded to the scene at 111th Avenue and Van Buren to check on the resident of the apartment.
When they arrived, they found the man dead inside.
Police later released information stating the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
