Avondale Police: 6-year-old boy drowns in pool during family party

A young boy is dead after drowning in an Avondale pool.

Avondale police were called to a home in the 2200 block of 105th Avenue on Saturday after 6-year-old Raul Ramirez Jr. was pulled from a pool.

According to a police spokesperson, there were multiple adults and kids around for a party at the time of the incident.

A person noticed Ramirez Jr. in the pool and immediately pulled him out, officials said. Family members began performing CPR but he was taken to a hospital where he later died.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
