Tempe police are investigating a deadly crash involving a woman in a wheelchair.
Police responded to reports of a car accident near Southern Avenue and Rural Road Thursday afternoon.
According to officials, the woman was struck by a car and taken to a hospital where she later died of her injuries.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, authorities said.
Northbound Rural Road was closed for several hours after the crash but has since opened.
