A broken down train created heavy traffic delays in Tempe Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Tempe police said the train broke down at Price Road and Apache Boulevard around 2 p.m.

It is unclear whether anyone was injured, but all southbound traffic was at a standstill while emergency crews worked to clear the scene, police said.

The train was back up and running and the road was reopened shortly after 3 p.m.
