A child taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after being pulled from a backyard pool on August 1 has since passed away.
Crews responded to a home near McClintock and Guadalupe around 3:30 p.m. on August 1. Firefighters were called after an 11-year-old girl was found by a family member at the bottom of the pool.
Family members got her out of the water and started CPR before paramedics arrived, according to the Tempe Fire Department.
Tempe police now say the young girl has since passed away at the hospital.
Video from Air15 showed there was no fence around the pool.
