Police are searching for a man who robbed a Tempe bank on Wednesday.
Officers responded to the Arizona Central Credit Union near Southern Avenue and Loop 101 around 10:30 a.m. after receiving reports about the robbery.
According to officials, a suspect entered the bank with a handgun and demanded cash. Afterward, he fled the building and officers have been unable to locate the suspect.
He’s described as being white, about 6’0”, thin build and was last seen wearing a white hard hat, dark long-sleeved shirt and a neon yellow construction vest.
Ward Elementary, a school located near the bank, was placed on a temporary lockdown as a precaution.
