A Tempe man is accused of chasing a teen with an ax through a Tempe neighborhood.
Court documents show that 43 -year-old Michael Covalt was arguing with his girlfriend and then turned his attention to a teenager who was also in the backyard.
Police say that after pushing the victim to the ground and punching him several times, Covalt grabbed an ax and started chasing the victim down the street.
Tempe police caught up and arrested Covalt before he was able to injure the victim any further.
Covalt is being charged with assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
