A Tempe police officer has been taken to the hospital after suffering minor injuries in a collision on Saturday night.

According to Tempe police, the crash happened around 8:45 p.m. near McClintock and Alameda drives.

Police say a city of Tempe bus and a vehicle had collided at the intersection, one of the vehicles then struck the officer's unmarked car.

The officer was reportedly working traffic enforcement for DUI patrols.

The driver and a passenger from the vehicle involved in the crash with the bus were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The bus driver was hospitalized with minor injuries, and two passengers from the bus were treated at the scene and released.

A Tempe police spokesman said on Sunday that none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
