Free concerts at Tempe Marketplace in February

There is something about sipping coffee, enjoying a beer or reading a book while music plays in the background.

For the month of February, bands will be perform free concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings at Tempe Marketplace's District Stage (between Dave & Buster's and H&M) and the fountain by Barnes and Noble.

Music starts at 7 p.m. and will go for either two or three hours, depending on the band and the night. The artists represent a wide range of music genres: jazz, pop, indie, Southern rock, country, progressive rock and more.

Friday, Feb. 5:

We, Beloved
District Stage, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
We, Beloved is an alternative indie band

Victor Andrada
Barnes and Noble Fountain, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Andrada is a singer, guitarists who combines jazz, folk blues, Spanish and swing

 

Saturday, Feb. 6:

Ratio
District Stage, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Ratio is an Arizona band that specializes in rhythm and blues, jazz, punk and pop

Grady Soine
Barns and Noble Fountain, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Soine is a keyboardist with a unique style of music

 

Friday, Feb. 12:

Sour Diesel Trainwreck
District Stage, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
This four-piece high-energy band is from Mesa, Ariz. and features Americana, Southern Rock and alternative country.

West Hills Brothers
Barns and Noble Fountain, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Duo with acoustic/electric guitars and sound that features rock, pop, alternative and original tunes.

 

Saturday, Feb. 13:

Scortched
District Stage, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
A hard-driving acoustic electric rock band

John Calvert
Barnes and Noble Fountain, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Earthy tunes, folk, jazz, flamenco
 

 

Friday, Feb. 19:

The Chris G. Band
District Stage, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Alternative indie, 'fusion-esque' style of music

Pete Pancrazi
