Phoenix police are investigating a bank robbery on the Arizona State University's downtown campus.

Authorities received reports around 11:30 Tuesday morning after a man robbed the MidFirst Bank near Van Buren Street and Central Avenue.

A Phoenix police spokesperson said the suspect — who is believed to be in his 40s or 50s — walked into the bank and handed the teller a note. The man then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was last seen walking northbound on Central Avenue, police said.

After the incident police attempted to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful. A more detailed description wasn't immediately provided.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Phoenix Police Department.
