Posted at 4:30 AM, Oct 25, 2018

A Tempe resident was shot during an apparent home invasion involving masked suspects overnight.

Tempe police say officers were called to the home near Rural Road and US-60 around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials learned that multiple people wearing masks forced entry into the home. One of the suspects fired multiple rounds from a firearm, including one that struck the resident.

The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspects fled the scene and have not yet been located. It's unclear whether the suspects took off with anything from the home.

No further information has been released about the incident. Stay with ABC15 for updates.
