TEMPE, AZ — A fiery crash shut down a portion of northbound Loop 101 around noon Tuesday.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, multiple vehicles were involved in the crash near Broadway Road. There is no word yet on the extent of injuries.
Video from the Arizona Department of Transportation showed at least two heavily damaged vehicles in flames and traffic backed up behind them.
Northbound lanes were closed for about an hour in the area but have since reopened. Drivers should expect delays in the area as the investigation into the crash continues.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
