The United Blood Services is hoping to get 500 donors during their Saving Arizona blood drive.

It's the state's largest blood drive and it's happening on Sunday in Tempe.

According to UBS, the holiday season is the most difficult time to get blood donors, but the need for them doesn't stop.

Since Christmas Eve, hospital orders for blood have outpaced donations by two to one.

They're also low on their O-Negative blood supply.

The blood drive is happening from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Tempe Center for the Arts.

They are recommending appointments, but walk-ins are welcome.

Those who donate will receive a pass for the Phoenix Open and a gift certificate for a pizza at the Streets of New York restaurant.
