Burglary suspect Tased after punching Tempe officer multiple times

An alleged burglar is accused of punching an officer multiple times in Tempe, forcing police to use a Taser on him.

Police were called to the area of Interstate 10 and Baseline Road around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports about a possible burglary suspect spotted on a bus.

Police were able to find the suspect, 23-year-old Jordan Lemons, and take him off the bus, a Tempe police spokesperson said. During the incident, Lemons allegedly punched the officer multiple times in the head. 

In an attempt to defend himself against Lemons, the officer Tased the man. 

According to police, the officer involved suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Lemons was arrested and is facing aggravated assault and felony threat charges; burglary charges are also possible. He also had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
