The splash pad at Founders’ Park in Queen Creek has reopened after a fecal incident forced it to shut down.
The pads, near Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads, was closed for multiple hours on Wednesday after fecal matter was discovered. It was able to reopen again after cleaning and testing.
To avoid similar incidents in the future, city officials have opted to shut down the splash pad every 90 minutes for five minutes.
According to a city spokeswoman, it’s the eighth time since March that the splash pad has been forced to close because of a fecal-related incident.
