An Amber Alert has been canceled for four children abducted from San Tan Valley Thursday evening.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said around 4:30 p.m., deputies were called to investigate reports of a man violently assaulting his live-in girlfriend at their home on East Mountain View Road.

Neighbors called 911 saying they saw 34-year-old Shane Borden strike Sarah Johnson, knock her unconscious and place her into a white Chevy Suburban with her four children in the back seat, ages 3-8.

Borden fled the area with Johnson and her kids. Sheriff's officials say with the help of Mesa Police and the Department of Public Safety, authorities located the suspect, Johnson and four children in the vehicle near Val Vista and US 60 just before 9 p.m.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Officials say the four children were found in the car unharmed. Johnson had injuries from the assault, but she is expected to be okay.
