Woman arrested for Mesa road rage incident allegedly pointed a BB gun at a child

Officials have arrested a woman for a road rage incident in the Mesa area after she allegedly pointed a black BB gun at a child.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said 35-year-old Shannon Marie French has been charged with aggravated assault and endangerment.

The road rage incident happened near Elliot and Ellsworth roads on Friday morning.

French allegedly pointed a black BB handgun at the victim and pointed it toward the passenger seat where a child was sitting. 

The victim told police they braked quickly to avoid French, and called police shortly after.

Details on what led up to the incident have not been released.
