A Mesa man returned home early Saturday morning to find two burglars inside his home.

Mesa police say the burglary occurred in a house near Alma School and Baseline roads.

According to police, a small fight broke out after the homeowner discovered the two suspects.

The victim went to his neighbor's house afterwards to get help.

"He was bleeding and he told me to call 911 because he had a home invasion," neighbor Tyler Doerr said.

The victim told Doerr that he had just come home from work when he found two people inside. When the man confronted the suspects he was attacked.

"One of the guys beat him with a chair from his kitchen," Doerr said. "He hit him in the head multiple times, which opened up a wound on his head."

Police have arrested one suspect, and are searching for the second in the nearby neighborhood.

The homeowner suffered minor injuries in the incident and is expected to be fine.
