A high school teacher in Mesa accused of having sexual conduct with a 17-year-old student will serve jail time.
Sheron Butler was sentenced to two and half years in prison and lifetime supervised probation on Monday morning.
Butler, 39, was the football coach and a math teacher at Sequoia Charter Schools. He was arrested last year and fired after a student told a camp counselor that she was in a sexual relationship with one of her teachers.
At the time, Butler was booked into jail on four counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
ABC15 looked into Butler's personnel file and found that he had been disciplined previous for "inappropriate interactions" on Facebook.
