A Phoenix man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she slept.
A probable cause statement from the Mesa Police Department says officers responded Monday to a treatment facility for a report of a sexual assault.
The victim told police she was molested the night before while sleeping in a community room of the facility.
She awoke to find a man with his hands down her pants. She ran to her room, where she told law enforcement the man followed and entered naked. She yelled at the man and he left without further contact, police said.
The man, identified as 21-year-old Victor Jonathan Perez, was arrested and booked on two counts of sexual assault.
In the probable cause statement, investigators said Perez admitted he molested the woman and touched her without her consent.
Perez is not eligible for bail and will remain in custody ahead of his next court date, which is scheduled for March 29.
