MESA, AZ — A 20-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after repeatedly ramming his car into a Mesa officer's patrol car Sunday night.

Mesa police say an officer was patrolling the area near US-60 and Country Club Drive when he noticed a parked car in the Park-n-Ride with the engine on. When the officer approached the car, he saw the driver, Jonas Gaspard Post, doing drugs.

Authorities say Post immediately put his car into reverse, ramming the officer's vehicle. He then pulled forward, and again reversed into the patrol car.

The officer attempted to stop Post, at which time he pulled forward and jumped the curb. The officer was dragged a short distance, but only suffered minor scrapes to his elbow.

Post took off and police found his vehicle unoccupied near Southern Avenue and Horne. Officers say police helicopters spotted him hiding on the roof of a house nearby.

Officers surrounded the house and took Post into custody as he came off the roof.

Police say they found marijuana in Post's car. He is being charged with multiple felonies which include aggravated assault on an officer and unlawful flight.
