Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on Friday night.

Officers say the shooting happened at a home near Southern and Stapley around 9:10 p.m.

Authorities said the 21-year-old man was shot in the street in front of a home, but investigators determined there was no connection between the victim and where he was shot. They say this incident appears to be isolated.

Paramedics assisted the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were canvassing the area in hopes of locating the possible suspect(s) but were unsuccessful.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mesa Police Department at (480) 644-2211.
