Police say a man is behind bars for allegedly exposing himself inappropriately to several young girls on multiple occasions.

In February, Mesa Police were called after a Hispanic man, between 35 to 40 years old, allegedly exposed his genitals to a group of girls who were walking to school. Police were not immediately able to locate the suspect but learned that he was driving an older green extended cab Ford truck.

Over the past several months, police say they've received several similar reports.

On Tuesday, police saw a man driving a green Ford truck near Extension Road and University Drive. While watching the driver, an officer observed him contacting a group of young girls, officials said.

Detectives asked the girls what occurred during the confrontation and learned that the man exposed himself three times in less than a minute, a police spokesperson said.

Edgar Mendoza-Coria, 39, was arrested and charged with public sexual indecency, indecent exposure, and resisting arrest. Additional charges are possible in the future.

According to officials Edgar allegedly admitted to exposing himself to the girls because he felt an adrenaline rush and explained that he has done this act multiple times in Mesa over the past two years.

Police say all the victims are believed to be between 12 and 17 years old and an investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information in connection to the case is asked to call the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.
