Mesa police have arrested a man accused of pepper spraying a mother and her daughter.

The incident happened on April 6, in the area of Country Club and University drives.

According to police, the victims were returning home when 35-year-old David Garcia ran up to them in a mask and pepper sprayed them both in the face.

After using the pepper spray, Garcia allegedly assaulted the victims and stole a wallet.
