The case of a missing Mesa man that had been upgraded to a Silver Alert has been canceled after the man was located in the desert in far east Mesa.
On Thursday afternoon, officials first asked for help in finding 72-year-old Gary Stuesse. Mesa police said he was last seen near Baseline and Signal Butte Roads on Tuesday.
The 72-year-old man was later found on Thursday evening. He told police he had been sleeping in the desert. He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
