A motorcyclist led the Department of Public Safety on a high-speed pursuit throughout several cities overnight, according to officials.

According to dispatch audio, the pursuit started after 31-year-old Jeremiah Slayden blew past a trooper on Interstate 10 near the tunnel, early Wednesday morning.

Dispatch audio reveals troopers tried to follow Slayden but lost track of him near Sky Harbor because he was speeding more than 150 mph.

A DPS helicopter was called in to follow the motorcyclist. The pilot tried shining a light above the suspect to get him to stop.

The suspect allegedly continued from Interstate 10 to the US 60, where he turned around and got back on the freeway.

The pursuit ended when Slayden was taken into custody near Mesa and University drives.

Slayden is in custody for traveling over 85 miles per hour.
