71-year-old Alfonso Limon drowns at Salt River Wednesday

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says 71-year-old Alfonso Limon drowned Wednesday at the Salt River. Family of the man said they couldn’t find the victim for about 20 minutes before they found him in the water.

The Rural Metro Fire Department says this happened near bus stop number four at the Blue Point Takeout at about 2:30 p.m.

Rescuers from MCSO used a boat to pull the man out and performed CPR, but he didn’t survive.
