Police say an arrest has been made after a driver hit and killed a man riding a bicycle in Gilbert on Tuesday morning.

The hit-and-run crash occurred near Higley and Ocotillo roads after 5 a.m. A 73-year-old man, identified as Calvin Ray Sapp, was left dead at the scene.
Police were looking for a gold sedan with extensive damage. An off-duty Phoenix officer reportedly spotted a car matching the description, leading to an arrest.
A 17-year-old was reportedly arrested in connection with the deadly crash. According to information at the scene, the teen fell asleep while driving and thought he hit something.
Police are investigating whether impairment was a factor.
Police say southbound Higley Road between Chandler Heights & Ocotillo is closed. Avoid the area while police investigate.
