GILBERT, AZ — An 11-month-old baby is being treated at a hospital for burns to its body.
Officials with the Gilbert Police Department say officers and medics with the Gilbert Fire Department responded to a residence around 10:00 a.m. Sunday for a burn patient.
Authorities say the 11-month-old accidentally dumped hot coffee onto itself. During an investigation, police determined there was no suspicious activity, just purely accidental.
The child was transported to the Maricopa County Burn Unit for treatment.
