Crews were able to rescue a person trapped in a house fire in Gilbert Sunday night.
According to Gilbert fire officials, at least one person was trapped on the second floor of a home near Higley and Pecos roads after a fire broke out.
Crews were able to extinguish the blaze and managed to rescue at least one victim.
Update on Elgin fire. Fire is out. One rescue, patient transported to hospital for evaluation, other occupant out prior to fire crew arrival. Fire crews ventilating house, clearing out smoke.
