Firefighters say the incident happened at a home near Higley and Riggs roads around 6:45 p.m.
The child was pulled out of the water without a pulse and CPR was started before the child was taken to a nearby hospital, firefighters say
It's believed the child was unaccounted for, for at least 15 minutes before being pulled from the pool by family.
Officials say there is a fence around the pool but it's unknown how the child gained access.
