Nearly a week after allegedly robbing a Bank of America branch in Chandler, a robber hit another branch -- this time, a Compass Bank just five miles away.

In both robberies the suspect passed a note to the bank teller and walked out with an undisclosed amount of money, according to Chandler police.

The first robbery happened on Sept. 4 at the Bank of America branch near Chandler Boulevard and Price Road. The second happened Monday, just six days later, at the Compass Bank branch near Alma School and Elliot roads, police said.

In the second robbery, the suspect reportedly got rid of some of the money at a nearby bus stop.

Police want to talk to anyone who happened to see the man's behavior at that bus stop.

In the Bank of America robbery, the suspect was wearing a light blue long-sleeve button-up shirt with a red shirt underneath, and an orange and black baseball cap.

He wore the same cap during the Compass robbery, police said, but swapped his blue shirt for an orange short-sleeve shirt with a long-sleeve gray or dark green shirt underneath. He also wore khaki pants.

The suspect is described as being a male in his early 40s, between 5 feet 10" and 6' tall with a medium build. He also has facial hair.

Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with info that leads to the suspect's identity and conviction. They can be reached at 480-948-6377.
